Get Weird: No Age performs The Bear

October 16 2009

No Age is an enthusiastic Los Angeles duo that, according to the New Yorker, “buzzes with a warm verve and the promise of impending rumpus.” Their dynamic, energetic songs sweep from hazy, delirious murk to sunny guitar melody, creating an expanse that’s almost cinematic in its scope. Drawing on this sweeping, narrative presence, No Age has created an original score for Jean-Jacques Annaud’s 1989 film The Bear. Annaud’s nearly wordless tale of an orphaned bear cub provides an emotional, spacious playground for a careening, punk-rooted experimentation that relies on the film’s storyline as much as it enhances the experience. No Age will perform their original soundtrack live in accompaniment with The Bear. Premiered at The 2009 Seattle International Film Festival, No Age’s performance of The Bear makes its New York debut at the New Museum.
Co-presented with the Wordless Music series.
